The risk that it will affect your health is tiny. However, it’s always recommended to apply the treatment in a well ventilated area, like we do at our salon for example.
If you go for a classic keratin treatment, it’s important to know that you cannot wash your hair for up to 3 days after treatment. Neither can you put it in a ponytail or clip it back. This is because you might actually dent your hair as it’s still settling into its new structure. Once the three day period has passed, use sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner for maintenance. With an Express treatment you only need to wait 8 hours.
When applied by a professional who has expertise and knowledge of the products involved, there is no risk that it will affect your colored hair. In some cases, when not done correctly, keratin has been known to slightly lighten coloured hair.
